FEDCO Ghana Medical Trust Fund Donation Supports Healthcare Delivery

Federated Commodities PLC (FEDCO) has made a significant contribution to healthcare delivery in Ghana through the FEDCO Ghana Medical Trust Fund Donation initiative, donating GH₵200,000 to the Ghana Medical Trust Fund (GMTF).

The Ghana Medical Trust Fund (GMTF) is a national statutory fund established to mobilise sustainable financing for specialised medical care for people living with chronic non-communicable diseases in Ghana.

Formally established in July 2025 under Act 1144, the Fund was created in response to a growing national reality. Chronic non-communicable diseases, including cancer, cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, and kidney disease, now account for about 45% of all deaths in Ghana, meaning nearly one in every two lives lost is linked to a condition that often requires long-term, specialised, and costly care.

The donation was officially presented on Thursday, May 14, during a visit by a FEDCO delegation led by our CEO Hajia Maria Adamu-Zibo to the offices of the Ghana Medical Trust Fund. The delegation was warmly received by the Administrator of the Fund, Adjoa Obuobia Darko-Opoku, together with members of the GMTF team.

The Ghana Medical Trust Fund is an initiative established to support healthcare delivery in Ghana by providing financial assistance for critical healthcare needs, patient care, and medical interventions.
