About Us
Who We Are
Federated Commodities Limited (FEDCO) is a leading indigenous Licensed Cocoa Buying company (LBC), established in March 1996, following a decision by Government of Ghana in 1992 to introduce competition in the internal marketing of cocoa, to be regulated by Ghana Cocoa Board (Cocobod).
Our core function is to purchase high quality, well fermented and dried cocoa beans from farmers in all cocoa growing communities in Ghana, at the correct weight, bulk it properly, evacuate to designated Take Over Centres and hand over the produce to Cocoa Marketing Company (CMC), a subsidiary of Cocobod.
We are among the top LBCs in the country, with average annual cocoa purchases of 50,000 MT, and turnover of about $100 million.
Our headquarters is in Accra, Ghana and we have operational offices across six of the seven regions earmarked by Cocobod. We have a staff strength of over 350, and engage the services of over 2,000 Purchasing Clerks who source our cocoa beans directly from our 50,000 loyal farmers nationwide.

In partnership with CMC and our trading partners, we engage in the export of Traceable and Certified cocoa beans to help promote sustainability in cocoa production through community development and capacity building of farmers. Under this program, farmers are trained on Good Agricultural Practices, Good Social Practices and Farmer Business School that empowers the farmers economically.
With the introduction of technology in our payment system, farmers will be trained and sensitized on the importance of savings and better management of their hard-earned income.
Going forward, we aim at embarking on a vertical integration drive in order to strengthen our supply chain. This expansion entails starting from crop farming to processing. We also aim at diversifying our activities by expanding into new commodities such as Raw Cashew Nut and Moringa.
